The Cerberus is a limited edition low output Alnico 3-based humbucker using a long rough-cast Alnico 3 magnet, vintage style plain enamel coil wire, and vintage style butyrate bobbins.  Vintage-correct 1215 steel slugs. These are NOT wax potted.

At 8k bridge and 7.4k neck, these are low output and won't slam the front end of your amp.  If you're looking for raunch, these aren't the droids you're looking for.  Known for it's low magnetic strenght, Alnico 3 delivers a warm, sweet, subtle tone great for jazz, and blues.

Sold only in pairs, just 50 pairs of the Cerberus will be made.

If you want opposing colors, such as reverse-zebra neck and zebra bridge, or black neck and zebra bridge, etc, please let us know during checkout.

Long 1/2 inch mounting legs are standard. If you need short 1/4 inch mounting legs for guitars such as PRS and some others, let us know.

Amazing pickup set! Glad I picked these up before they were gone. If you love a vintage output type humbucker – this is it. Very clear and articulate for a lower output set. Has a nice bite when pushed and sweet and warm when backed off. The neck in particular is spectacular. Had promptly installed these into a Les Paul Traditional with upgraded wiring from RS Guitarworks. Very happy with these – another incredible addition to my Wolfetone lineup!

Holy CRAP! What a nice pup.
Ok, let me explain: I’ve always loved Alnico2 humbuckers (Slash by Duncan, and Dr V by Wolfe). They have a very nice bloom when you push them. You kinda drive the pup and it reacts to touch and volume exceptionally well. So then i tried some Alnico V pups (Marshallhead) which are also really nice- they drive the amp. They amplify your attack and chord work. But i didn’t like the “heat” that they pushed.
So here we are with the Cerberus, A3 and it has the qualities of the A2 i like with a deeper bloom, a bit of a mid raunch when driven by attack but sweet all the way through. No piercing highs. It sounds like a LesPaul, it feels like a LesPaul and is totally classic. It’s got the bloom, headroom and sweet highs with whatever mids you want to dial in. It reacts to your playing so well. Vintage, but with extra love added. Getcha some. Well done Wolfe
